Food Service Manager

Our foodservice partner: GERATEC

At ACVV Huis Vergenoegd, Paarl, we believe good nutrition is more than a meal — it is part of dignity, wellbeing and quality of life. That is why we are proud to have partnered with GERATEC as our foodservice provider for more than 15 years.

GERATEC is unique in South Africa, the only contracting company whose core focus is exclusively on the needs of older persons. Their relationship-directed approach ensures service that is not only consistent and professional, but also personal and caring.

Our residents receive three balanced meals daily, with lunch offering a choice of two protein options. Residents may also choose to follow the MIND diet — an eating approach that supports brain health by emphasising vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and healthier fats, among others.

We encourage residents to enjoy mealtimes in our different dining rooms — a welcoming space to socialise around the table, while a tasty meal is served by friendly, trained GERATEC staff. The on-site team is led by an experienced Foodservice Manager focused on quality and consistent service delivery.

As a long-term partner, GERATEC works closely with our management and teams to maintain high standards and ensure a sustainable service. Supported by qualified dietitians who stay aligned with the latest research and best practice, menus and nutritional guidelines are shaped to meaningfully contribute to our residents’ quality of life. We also hold monthly nutrition care meetings, where the dietitian collaborates with the care team to review resident needs and implement nutritional interventions where required.
