Chairperson

I am Nina Slabbert, née Clift from Southern Paarl. I married my school sweetheart, Johann Slabbert and we have 3 children. We are also blessed with 5 grandchildren.  Johan sadly passed away in 2023 and he is still missed every day.

I am a proud Girls Higher from Paarl, (where my father, Billie Clift was a scholar up to standard 1), and both my daughters and my eldest granddaughter, are also Girls Highers.

​

My career choice was laid out for me from childhood, to become a social worker. I previously worked at Paarl and Victoria Hospitals.

​

We went overseas with a baby in 1982 when Johann went to work in a hospital in St Asphaf, Wales. Since our return in 1984, I have been involved with the ACVV.  My involvement with Huis Vergenoegd started in 2009 and I have been the chairperson for about 14 years. I have also been involved in several other institutions such as, the Junior City Council, and the Marriage and Family Care Association.

So essentially always a social worker.

Finance

Accountant at Huis Vergenoegd, since 2008. More than 30 years of experience at various firms as Financial Manager and Accountant. National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting at Technikon SA. Trustee ACVV Pension Fund (since 2014) Facilitator of Employee Forum on pension matters etc. (160 Employees). Morne is married and is the proud father of 2 children.

Head of Care Services

Sister Hanli is head of the Care Services from 2017. Proud mother of 2 daughters and Grandmother of 4 grandchildren. At HVG there is room for 44 frail residents. The staff consists of 10 Senior staff members, 26 caregivers, 10 general assistants, a ward secretary and an administrative staff member.

Service Center Manager
She has been associated with Huis Vergenoegd for 16 years, where she previously held the position of Head of
Housing units. She has been associated with the Service Centre for the past 6 years.
Here she is responsible for arranging excursions as well as compiling and maintaining the
activity programs and presentation thereof.
Her work is very satisfying for her, because caring for older people has always been close to her heart.

Head Residential Units

I grew up in the Karoo and then worked in the Cooperative environment. Currently employed at the ACVV for approximately 12 years. At Huis Vergenoegd there are great responsibilities, with the care of older people, which I do with love.

Head House Ina Rens

I am a social worker. My previous work experience includes 14 years with the Cancer Society, where I was involved in the
support for individuals affected by cancer.

I have currently been employed at Huis Ina Rens for eight years where I passionately work with the elderly, specifically with those living with Dementia.

Outside of work, I am happily married and a proud parent of two wonderful children.
