SERVICES

A lot of effort is put into arranging interesting events and outings. The following services are available daily, weekly or monthly:

Daily

Library Service: Volunteer residents who service and care for the library.
Games afternoons: Various games are offered, such as Rummikub, checkers, chess, card games, etc. Not limited to a specific day and members can play any afternoon they choose.
Gardens: members get a piece of garden that is tended by a gardener.
Hair salon (own expense)
Hand and foot care (own cost)
Fiber internet (own cost).

Boules: Teams play in the garden on Wednesday mornings.
Wonderful world of birds: Interesting visual presentation and discussions around various bird species.
Craft group: Members come together for a social gathering and bring the crafts they are working on.
Bible study
Worship services: Sundays in the Chapel – Branch of the Straw Acre Church.
Bus services: Tuesdays and Fridays to Paarl Mall, Thursdays to Paarl town (free), transport to doctor's appointments (own expense).
Friday market day: (own expense) Stallholders bring something of everything such as jewelry, food, cards, clothes, wool, etc.

Paarl municipal library brings books.
Music program: Every 2nd Thursday. Requests for songs and music to be played or shown.
Bingo: Every 2nd Thursday.
Oddities and curiosities: A potpourri of topics and events that are odd or interesting are shown and discussed to expand general knowledge.
Blood pressure measurement every 2 weeks (free).
Exercise sessions: (2x per week) Chair, stretching and stick exercises with breathing exercises.
Audiologist visits: (2 times per month) 2 audiologists visit Huis Vergenoegd to support residents where they may need immediate assistance.

Writers, poets and books
Sing along program: Accompaniment on piano and residents singing along and sometimes also karaoke to bring variety to the program.
