SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be over 68 years of age.
The applicant's monthly income must be R18 500.00+ (R36 500.00 per couple) per month.
The applicant must be able to function fully independently (physically and mentally) in the residential unit upon admission.

Huis Vergenoegd does not handle any emergency admissions.

The rates for self-catering accommodation units per month depend on the type of accommodation unit required, and are adjusted annually in April.

A non-refundable entry fee of R28 000/person and R48 000/couple is charged upon check-in (regardless of the type of apartment taken).

This amount is also adjusted annually in April.

Persons who qualify for the waiting list according to the selection requirements (mentioned in points 1 and 2) are invited for an interview with the selection committee (consisting of Management members and senior staff) in Paarl.

Depending on the decision of the selection committee, the applicant is recommended for placement/waiting list at Huis Vergenoegd after this interview, or referred to an alternative facility.

Application forms are available at R300.00 per individual application / R600.00 per couple.

Huis Vergenoegd does not accept any monetary contributions from children/family of applicants.

Proof of all income must accompany the applicant's application package.

The applicant must be able to function fully independently (physically and mentally) in the housing unit.

Huis Vergenoegd Care Center does not accept any outsiders. Preference is given to current residents.
